I think the new PE sale on the RS270P-4A is a pretty good value. I found an online 10% discount coupon for even more savings. Those woofers model great in either sealed or ported enclosures.
Where did all the flashlights go? Been a lot of little flea market style tools lately. Like today. A 14-in-1 screwdriver! Extendable! Ratcheting! 36 teeth! $11.19! Buy one for every room in the house!
Seriously though, my dumbass ordered a pair of those 5" Dynavox.
The five and a quarter inch dynavox can play to 3K easily and really only requires just a notch filter to roll it off. It has a nice natural roll off and the peak there is all you got to deal with.
Looks like it can also easily play down to 250-300 Hz in a 4-5 Liter enclosure with only 2 xo parts. It's not super voltage sensitive but after some BSC is applied it can play well with most 7, 8, or 10 in woofers. I wouldn't hessitate to use it in a 3 way.
I am not going to buy any but has anyone used the "Monster Deal of the Week" the Dayton MX12-22 subs? If I was still into loud car audio they do look like a great bargin. Just add a Class D 1000 watt amp with a pair of them.... Drop and Distance as we use to say

Those MX subs are probably a pretty solid performer, but I doubt they are any cleaner mm per mm than the $60 GRS - they just have a longer throw. From a HT perspective, two of the GRS is more useful for less money and similar output but can be spaced out to help even room modes.
That being said, if I owned a vehicle I could put a system in I would give serious consideration to the MX series.
Absolute Beast Mode dome midrange right there - ugly ass oval shit notwithstanding. 8mm gap and +/-2.4mm of linear Xmax! 5mm of mechanical throw so it should handle transients (children and volume knobs) pretty well. 280Hz Fs! This is a serious midrange - too bad it costs what a nice used car costs.
It's also 8" in diameter, so damn. Pretty weird overall. I'm not going to buy them, what am I going to do with 8" dome mids?

The 5.25 polycone dynavox is a really nice mid bass. It gets down to really low in 15 l vented.

That 5.25" dynavox looks like it could be a really nice dedicated midrange in about 5 Liters sealed.

I thought you already had a pair of these JR?
No sir.

I'd rather have a Belisma dome mid.
84mm isn't 8 inches, it's 3.3 inches.

Edge to edge of the faceplate is 210mm.
I missed that. I guess I won't be buying a pair then. ;-)
