Don't believe the Vas. Everything seems to calculate correctly except that. But even with the more realistic VAS, in 2.4cf vented it will get a 40hz f3 with a 1db bump centered around 80hz. That is pretty much the interior volume of my Faux Pas build lol.
I'm not really considering it, but I am sipping on cabernet at the moment. Hopefully one thing doesn't lead to another
Drew - Thanks for goading me with those Woofers - it made me get the Dayton PA-310-8's out and run some sine waves upon them @ Fs of 39Hz [low SPL] to break-in and one is rattling/buzzing very badly - can't tell where it is coming from as pressing on the cone, spider, surround and dust cap don't stop it unless I press hard enough on any of them. The VC doesn't seem to be rubbing from a gentle pressing upon the cone in a symmetric pressure application by hand - not sure what to think. Sounds like something loose under the dust cap.
I'll need to contact PE . . .
ATA: Defective unit notice sent via website w/SO# . . .
ATA2: RA# issued and replacement driver in tomorrow's shipping - this is great customer service. Thanks PE.
ATA3: 12/8/2023 - Replacement speaker sitting on my porch.
Marketing brochure lol. Class G is simple, it's a class-AB amplifier with 2 separate voltage rails. High voltage rail is only in use when the signal needs to be larger than the low voltage rail. Efficiency is improved when the signal is closer to the voltage rail, so it offers efficiency improvement over AB at the cost of some added complexity. Everything else about whether it performs well or not is up to the specific design, just like any amp.
Picked up a set of these. I guess I had a hard time understanding the scale from the photo and the measurements just didn't compute in my head. I didn't realize how super chungus they are! Each post is a full 1" dia and the threaded ends on the back are 3/8". Kinda feels ridiculous to put em on bookshelf speakers.
I got em for a scenario where there would be little room on the back due to PR/s taking up the rest of the space. I think I'll save these for some big towers and just use individual binding posts on the bookshelf instead.

Not a DOTD but I just have to share...one of the reasons I have a shelf full of parts is because I can't pass up on good deals even if I don't know what I'll do with something...I think I just scored my best deal ever on eBay, a **PAIR **of open box Satori AT60NC AMT tweeters for $145 shipped. Per tweeter that is right around the price of the cheapest GRS ribbon.

That aught to give the PA310 a run for it's money. Dear gawd look at that BL! Having a hard time believing it is only 25lbs.
They could give my Faux Pas a more "Forte" response. But at 5x the cost. I bet they would be one hell of a bass horn driver.
OoooOoooh! 40HZ in 25 Liters for less money, cast frame, flat cone edge to frame transition and looks like a JBL copy too.
Very tempting!

Lots of drivers on sale at PE right now:

Quite a few other things on sale, too. Odd shit like a 5.1uF capacitor and a 1.0mH laminate core coil.
I wonder if they will have one more sale after this one is over in a few days.

Been wanting to try these even at $800/pr. At $600/pr, I think it's time. Do you have any experience with these amps?
Are they class AB or D?
G
I have the 5000X, I like it. Good value, would recommend.

Just pulled the trigger on a pair, but looks like they won't ship until the end of the month.

They say size matters. ;-)
Javad used 2 of those post pairs per cab on the Omegas, or 4 posts. They fit the aesthetics there.

Not familiar with the Omegas
I looked a long time at those. Should have thrown a pair in with my last order from Mad. Oh well.

I have the same problem. Great deal!
What a steal JR! Hadn't heard of them so did a quick google. $244 EACH at Madisound. Also found a review by Vance: https://audioxpress.com/article/test-bench-the-at60nc-4-amt-tweeter-from-sb-acoustics-satori-line. Looks like a great AMT.
Wasn't my deal lol, I wish.
Oops!
I recently came into a pair of AirCircs under similar circumstances. I told him he didn't want to deal with eBay
I never come across deals like that for audio stuff - usually eBay pricing is ridiculous for drivers.
I have scored on PC parts, though. Need to upgrade my HTPC a little bit, and hoping to win an auction or two coming up.
