Looks like they have the ice, I mean snow, machines going full blast. There are a few ski hills within 1.5 - 2 hours of here (Devil's Head, Cascade, Chestnut, and Sundown). I skied one of those every winter weekend in high school. Then in college…
Moving forward I'll be taking all new measurements tomorrow and/or Sunday with the new SIG180-4 truncated buyout woofers. This project may require a complete redesign of the xo, but honestly I don't expect wholesale changes. The SIG buyout drivers…
What's weird is that I can feel the raised ring running my finger over it. The ND series never had that. That's ok, for my application they will work just fine. Both of them measured spot on to each other and very very close to the factory specs.
My pair of buyout truncated SIG180's just showed up. Nice frames and all that but I now know why they are buyouts (rejected by the OEM). The attachment point of the voice coil former to the concaved aluminum cone is super visable and not very pret…
As already mentioned above CSS has their black friday sale going on. I wanted to give a shout out to their LD22 tweeters. They sound wonderful and are a steal at the sale price. If you need a small format dome tweeter for a small 2 way or for the…
Those boards look exactly like the plywood siding panels I used to sheath my shed. They took exterior latex paint very well.

My old infinite baffle rig for measuring buyout drivers was 100% OSB. Worked fine for that purpose. Other than covering OSB with paper backed veneer, not sure how else I would finish it and be happy with the look.
USPS tracking says my truncated SIG180's will be delivered today!!! I'll break them in tonight, measure them tomorrow before family gets here for Turkey Day, and may be listening to them on Friday :)
This is my prototype xo for the omni woofers / OB mids project. I use a tiny dot of hot glue to stick the components to a piece of cardboard. Less likely to have a couple leads accidentally touch and damage my amp

I really enjoy soldering, so I tack solder all my prototype crossovers with maybe just one or two alligator clips for quickly swapping padding resistors. I made my own 18 awg soldered alligators.

I ordered a pair this morning. The plan is for them to be an upgrade in my Omni/OB project. They should fit perfectly into the existing enclosures with just a slight change in port length. Thanks for pointing them out. I probably would h…
They sure do grow up fast. Cute gal JR!
My Son is turning 13 in a month and we need to buy him an electric razor for Christmas. And his voice dropped two octaves over the summer =)
Surprisingly the bass is way stronger than the single on axis measurement would suggest! Need to make some adjustments to my prototype crossovers.

I think you are correct Ben.
My former GM bought a Bugatti. From what I hear that good looking car was in the shop for repairs more than he acrtually drove it. He now has a Porsche Panamera 4. Cool looking car.

The finish work John did on those baffles is just amazing! And they sounded good too. I liked them better in the original position but everyone else seemed to like them better when they were closer to the back wall.
